Hello dear friends...I've just learned some exciting news to share with you all....there will be a BlockHeads 2! I have NO details at all. Please stay tuned for updates as they become available. Wow! Are you ready for a new adventure???
Meanwhile....
I'm still trying to find the right sashing for BlockHeads 1 !!!. Pretty sure about the colors for the cornerstone stars. well, you know me, I do change my mind.
Sometimes we just have to cut up a few strips and play. Sit back, and look. Walk away, and then return with a fresh eye.
And then, still be undecided!
What do you think?
I love indigo, but I'm really liking the red. Which red print? The stripe is from Lizzie's Legacy. I'm surprised I have enough! And the red, with the little dashes and buds, is from Grace's Garden.
The indigo print is from the upcoming Evelyn's Homestead.
No matter which I select, it will at some point go next to blocks with that color on the outside edge.
I think I'm set on cornerstones, though I might mix up the reds and the golds from my different lines. But if I choose use red sashing, maybe I need indigo stars. Hmmm
If you missed the posting (week 33, October 18) for the 3" Sawtooth Star I've chosen for cornerstones, here are the measurements to cut:
center square 2"
4 corner squares 1 1/4"
starpoint background (sky for geese) 1 square 2 7/8"
4 squares for starpoints 1 3/4"
Please refer to my week 32 post if you need a refresher on no-waste flying geese.
Trim starpoint units to 1 1/4" x 2"
Geese are 3/4" x 1 1/2" finished.
Assemble in rows.
Watch for updates on BlockHeads 2.
Happy Sewing!
Until next time
~ Betsy
I like the indigo best. The stripes are disconcerting.Going to be beautiful either color.
ReplyDeleteBlockhead's Revisited? Sounds like fun! I think I have another in me. I vote for the red sashing, but I'm sure whatever you decide it will be sensational. Thanks again for a fun "Blockheads" journey.
ReplyDeleteUgh, I need to finish my BH blocks! I'll vote for the less busy Grace's Garden red. Any one tho, your quilt will be gorgeous, Betsy.
ReplyDeleteOh no! I think that you have three different votes in your comments. Too funny!!
ReplyDeleteI am partial to the red stripe. Sorry I missed you in Athens. See you at Market in Portland?
ReplyDeleteThe stripes are to busy.
ReplyDeleteSo exciting for as Moda Blockheads 2 sew-along! I like the indigo more it's calmer the red one is too bright.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely Grace's Garden. The other stripe competes with the blocks. But, it has to look good to you, not us. Blockheads 2, sounds fun.
ReplyDeleteExciting on Blockhead 2.
ReplyDeleteNot so excited about your cornerstones. While they are awesome blocks.... they are busy and the blocks are busy and busy busy busy takes something away from the lovely work.... what about something like broken dishes??? and use the star cornerstone in another quilt.....
