Happy BlockHeads3 Wednesday! Block 7 by Lissa Alexander

Happy Wednesday!!!
How are you all doing this week 7 of BlockHeads3?
Are you keeping up?  Are you making extra blocks in every size?
Most importantly, are you having fun???
I love making blocks.
I got a little carried away this week, and made several of Lissa Alexander's block 7...Zest.
I have lots of photos today.

Here is one version of Zest...

This the 4" version.

Please CLICK HERE  for Lissa'a pattern, Zest.

Then I decided I wanted more...and so there were 4 - 4" blocks!

Then, I thought would they be cute with the 4" LOVE block I made for Brigitte's block...

Darling, if I do say so myself.

I LOVE this photo.

Then, I thought wouldn't the heart be cute in 2" finished....4 of these make a 4" finished block.
So, I grabbed some scraps.
Oh goodness, too cute.
Ideas, ideas.  I do love to play...a coaster, a pincushion....a ???

And here is the growing stack.

and now this is an 8" block!

Have fun with Zest!

Until next time,
~  Betsy

Happy Wednesday! BlockHeads 3 Block 6 by Lisa Bongean

Happy Wednesday!

This week our BlockHeads 3 block 6 is Magic, designed by Lisa Bongean of Primitive Gatherings.

Here is my 8" version of Magic in indigo and butter.

This sweet block is fun and easy to make, in whichever size you choose.
I used 1" finished triangle paper to make the small triangles quickly.
Background prints are from Nancy's Needle due in March, and the indigo and butter prints are from Sarah's Story.

To download the pattern for Magic, click HERE for Lisa's blog.

My block collection is growing, and I'm loving where this is heading!

I think there will be several blocks during BH3, that I will make in multiple sizes.

This week I'm a busy bee making plans for Spring Market quilts and other projects...where does the time go?! Won't be long until I see you back here next week.

Hope you enjoy making Magic!

Moda Blockheads 3 Block 5

 Happy Wednesday!
Hope you all have had a good week and are having fun with our BlockHeads3!
Last week I appliqued and this week I pieced...paper pieced a 4" cutie
by Brigitte Heitland of Zen Chic.

Brigitte has created a darling Valentine for us.

Perfect time to find some of my Mom's old Valentines from 1930.

I paper pieced this block and enjoyed every minute.
My favorite fabric, from Susanna's Scraps, serves as the background and
the letters are from Susanna, Sarah's Story and Nancy's Needle (March delivery)

Click HERE to go to Brigitte's blog and download the pattern.

Four sizes are available, so choose you favorite size!

Timing of this block could not have been better.
Happy Valentine's Day.

and now there are 5.

No setting design yet, just putting the blocks on the design wall....for now.

I'll be spending Valentine's Day in San Antonio with friends.
On the 13th, I'm presenting a program to the Alamo Heritage Quilt Guild and
giving a workshop for them on the 15th.

Until next time,
~ Betsy

Happy Moda BlockHeads 3 Wednesday Block 4 by Jan Patek

Hi everyone! Wednesday has surely come around fast and now it's time for another block for BH3.  This is an applique week with a cute block designed by Jan Patek.

Block 4 Birdhouse

To download and print Jan's block, and to see her tips, please use this link to her blog.

http://janpatek.blogspot.com/

I decided to to make this block 8" finished. I haven't seen the other applique blocks from Jan, so I'll decide on their size at the time.

I love applique. It is harder on my hands than it used to be. I followed Jan's instructions and hand appliqued.  And, I love it!  hmm I see that I have forgotten the eye.  Easily fixed later.
Thank you Jan!

Please check on all our to designers to see what they have made this week. Links are below.

Happy stitching!

Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time,
~ Betsy
